I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
